Kyiv: A surgeon successfully removed a live grenade from the chest of a Ukrainian soldier.
Foreign media According to reports, a hand grenade lodged in the chest of a soldier without exploding during the fighting in Bakhmut, Ukraine, has been successfully removed by a Ukrainian surgeon.
Veteran military surgeon Andriy Vrba prepared for the surgery despite knowing that the grenade could explode at any moment, as the Ukrainian armed forces warned that the grenade could explode at any moment.
The armed forces added that the operation was successful and the injured soldier has been put under medical supervision for rehabilitation.
In an x-ray image released by the Ukrainian military, a live grenade can be seen lodged in a soldier’s chest near his lung. It is used to stop bleeding during menstruation. Another photo shows a doctor after surgery holding a grenade, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces said was a ‘VOG grenade’.
According to reports, the grenade was detonated from a grenade launcher attached to an assault rifle.
