The Stars paid this Friday a posthumous tribute to the late manager of their team Kalil Haché Malkum prior to last Friday’s game against the Tigres del Licey at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium.
The distinction was received by relatives of Kalil, led by his daughters Maribel and Elsita Haché, as well as his grandson Kalil José Díaz Haché, who had words of gratitude to the directors of the Stars for the recognition.
The president of the Stars, engineer Miguel Feris, was in charge of reading the plaque and defined it as a special day for San Pedro de Macorís, the fans, as well as the board of the green team.
“Our dear Kalil was the soul of the Eastern Stars and of our people. It is a very great feeling to be here with his whole family, with our family, that in the end our parents left us, that we feel like a whole family ”, said Feris.
At the time of the death of Kalil Haché Malkum, in 2020, he was the president of the Sports Circle of the Armed Forces and the National Police.
“There are no words to describe how grateful we are. That is why today we remember our grandfather, where for him this was his home, you were his brothers and love and affection were his happiness. Today we meet again and he is in heaven seeing us all with a huge smile like the one he always had, ”said Díaz Haché.
After the event, the eldest of the late athlete’s grandchildren threw the first ball.
