The signing that Chelsea and Manchester United will be fighting over

According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are ready to compete with Manchester United to sign 20-year-old Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez, who currently plays for Premier League club Bournemouth. The Blues want to strengthen their defensive line ahead of the next transfer window and see Kerkez as a viable option.

Originally from Vrbas, Hungary, Kerkez has excelled since arriving at Bournemouth in 2023, following his time at AZ Alkmaar. With his experience with the Hungarian national team, the young full-back has demonstrated his qualities in both attack and defense and is an integral part of the Cherries’ plan. His progress has not gone unnoticed and several clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United, are interested in his services.

Manchester United and Chelsea want Milos Kerkez

For Manchester United, the need to strengthen the left side is obvious given the problems in that position this season. Kerkez would be an attractive option for the Red Devils, who are looking to improve their defense for next season.

As for Chelsea, with the potential departure of Ian Maatsen and uncertainty over Marc Cucurella’s future, Kerkez presents himself as a solid alternative to compete with Ben Chilwell at left-back.

With just one season in the Premier League, Kerkez’s future at Bournemouth could come to an end this summer if one of the interested clubs manages to complete his signing. It would be an important step in the young full-back’s career, with both Chelsea and Manchester United hoping to secure his signing to strengthen their respective squads for next season.
