Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin drove himself to the bridge connecting the country with the Kremlin Island and interacted with the security personnel there.
According to the British news agency, this is the same bridge where a terrible explosion occurred during the war with Ukraine two months ago, which set fire to a convoy of oil tankers.
According to Russian official media, Russian President Putin is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Murat Khosnolan.
The two arrived there in a Mercedes car, President Putin walked on different parts of the bridge and asked, ‘Where were the explosions?’
He said that we have arrived by driving from the right side, as far as I am concerned the repair work is being done on the left side. This needs to be done soon. We have to bring the bridge back to ideal condition.
It should be noted that this is the largest bridge in Europe, some parts of which still appear to be burnt.
Traffic and trains can cross the 19-kilometer bridge simultaneously, which was inaugurated by Putin himself in 2018.
On October 8, the bridge was bombed, which Russia blamed on Ukraine.
Ukraine has yet to claim responsibility for the blasts on the bridge, which took place the day after President Putin’s 70th birthday.
