The Lions of El Escogido sign the reinforcement pitcher Alex Valverde

The Operations Management of the Leones del Escogido reported the hiring of reinforcement pitcher Alex Valverde, for the autumn-winter season 2021-22 that this year will start on Wednesday, October 27.

Valverde, who throws right, belongs to the Tampa Bay Rays and during the summer he worked with the Montgomery Biscuits (AA), where he had 92 strikeouts in 72.0 innings for a frequency of 11.5 per each episode, the best of his career.

Valverde joins right-handers Yoen Socarrás, David Kubiak, Drew Carlton and Steven Wilson, left-hander Ethan Small and catcher Brett Sullivan among the reinforcements announced by the Scarlet troop.

The Lions have also had outfielder Joey Rickard as a guest at their training sessions, which take place at the Baltimore Orioles complex, located in Boca Chica.
