In the Indian state of Odisha, a mother of 11 children was kicked out by her husband for not having more children.
According to Indian media reports, Janaki Dehori, a woman in Dimeria village in Odisha’s Keunjhar district, is forced to live in the open with her 10 children as her husband has thrown her out of the house.
Janaki says that she has given birth to 11 children in the last 11 years, out of which one child died, at a time when children are growing up, it is a shame to have children every year. Due to which she along with other women of the village went to Khawati Primary Health Center.
Janaki said that she did not want any more children, so she had an operation, all this my husband did not understand, he threw me out of the house.
On the other hand, Janki’s husband Robi said that his wife has committed a crime by doing this, our community believes that if a woman does such an operation, our elders will not even get water in the next world.
