The funeral of the legendary actor, who died on Monday at the age of 88, will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church in Paris, his advice, Me Michel Godest, told AFPTV on Tuesday.
The day after the national tribute that will be paid to him on Thursday September 9 at the Invalides, the funeral of Jean-Paul Belmondo will take place on Friday September 10 at the end of the morning in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés church in Paris, announced Tuesday his advice Me Michel Godest at AFPTV. “Friday 11:00 am Saint-Germain church for (the) ceremony”, he said in response to a question about the timing of the burial of the star, an emblematic figure of French cinema of the second half of the twentieth century.
The ceremony will be followed by a cremation in the privacy, he told AFP. A national tribute must be paid to him on Thursday at the Invalides, the Elysée announced on Tuesday. The national tribute was originally intended for the military, but has been extended to civilians who have marked their time, such as Charles Aznavour in October 2018. “It will be decided with the protocol of the Elysee, the time, the modalities …”, said Me Michel Godest.
“Bébel” was for decades a headliner that guaranteed success in theaters, after a resounding debut in Breathless in 1960, a legendary New Wave film. With his death, France loses a familiar figure of cinema, embodying talent, daring and recklessness.
