Ramadan moon sighted in Saudi Arabia, holy month begins on Tuesday |  Al Arabiya EnglishAstronomer Dr. Abdullah Al-Musnad has said that the first fast in Saudi Arabia will be on Saturday, April 2, while Eid-ul-Fitr is expected on May 2, 2022.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Musnad, a former professor of astronomy at Qasim University, said that astronomical studies have shown that this year the month of Sha’ban will consist of 29 days while the month of Ramadan will consist of 30 days.

The astronomer added that according to the 29th of Sha’ban, the moon will be born at 9:24 am on April 1, while the crescent will be born on the western horizon of Makkah Mukarramah on the same evening, which will be visible for 16 minutes.

Dr. Al-Musnad further said that the appearance of the moon is conditional on the weather and if the atmosphere is cloudy then it will be difficult to see the moon.

From the study of astronomy, it can be said that Ramadan will be 30 days long, while the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr will appear on the evening of May 1, according to which Eid-ul-Fitr will be on May 2.
