Kuwait City: The first case of cholera has been reported in Kuwait.
According to details, the first case of cholera infection has been reported in Kuwait in a citizen who recently returned from a neighboring country.
Kuwait’s official news agency (KUNA) quoted the Ministry of Health as saying that the victim has been isolated and is being treated in a hospital.
In a statement, the ministry ruled out the possibility of a cholera outbreak in Kuwait, but advised citizens to take precautions and avoid unsafe water and food sources.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), between 1.3 and 4 million cases of cholera are reported worldwide each year, while cholera infections cause between 21,000 and 143,000 deaths worldwide each year. .
Iraq and Syria are currently suffering from a cholera epidemic, with the number of confirmed cholera cases in Syria reaching 1400 this month.
