The first black female judge of the US Supreme Court has taken the oath of office

Keitan G. Brown Jackson, the first black female Supreme Court judge in the United States, has been sworn in.

According to a report by a foreign news agency, in April, 53 votes were cast in favor of the appointment of a black woman judge in the US Senate and 47 against.

President Joe Biden last year appointed Keitan G as a judge in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Keitan G, 51, is the 116th judge, sixth female judge and third black judge of the US Supreme Court, founded in 1789. Before him, two black men have become judges of the Supreme Court.

Earlier, the black woman had also served as a federal district judge for eight years.

President Joe Biden promised during his presidential campaign in 2020 that he would appoint a black woman to the Supreme Court.
