The second edition of the VALENCIA EPIC RACE is already here. From this Friday to Sunday, Requena will be the epicenter of Mountain Bike lovers at an amateur level. This to the hundreds of registered to the mounts of Requena. The end of this stage will be a beautiful path along the riverbed heading west, ending in a fun circuit of jumps and banks to the finish line where the already traditional BUNS WITH CHOCOLATE will be ready.
Saturday session
The second day will be the so-called “Marathon” with 60 kilometers and 1327 meters of positive elevation gain. Again it will leave and arrive at the Requena Fairgrounds. A day also called “LANDSCAPE”.
60 kilometers of tracks and trails that will keep all bikers focused on each pedal stroke, in addition, their 1,327 meters of unevenness will create fun sections of pedaling uphill along trails.
The runners will leave through Arrabal Avenue, flattening up to the first climb, short but demanding, which will create the first spaces between participants, splicing a climb down tracks until you reach the heliport to leave behind the village of Rebollar.
Bordering the town by the mountain chain of great environmental value that protects it from the south face, the corridors They will go up and down the Sierra Malacara in a beautiful natural environment where a long and exciting path will take the bikers to the village of Hortunas. Once past the last provisioning station located in this village and after a leg-breaking ascent, we will find endless paths of the mythical area of the Serratilla where the “ELTIN” SPECIAL SEGMENT of the day will be located. It will continue through stretches of vineyards typical of the area, ending again along a path next to the river.

Sunday session
Last stage called “Montes de Requena” by Specialized that consists of 39 kilometers and a positive slope of 872 positive meters. With departure and arrival from the already usual Fairground, the runners will travel their first 10 kilometers along a forest track through a leafy forest, their continuous up and down passing through the areas of Jabonero and Casa del Forestal until reaching the upper part of the Sierra . At this point the bikers will join the path to enjoy an endless number of single tracks in this mythical area of Rebollar, where we can find the “Senda Mantecón” among others, which will represent the “SPECIALIZED” SPECIAL SEGMENT of the stage.
Both ups and downs will generate significant wear on the runner. We will have to save strength for the end of the day, almost 10 kilometers of pedaling that will leave the runners on the path next to the riverwhere the sprinters will decide the final results of the test.
