The deadlock between the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is almost over. After Pakistan Cricket Board accepted the hybrid model by all other cricket boards, BCCI now also agreed to play under this model.

The Indian board has also put a new condition before giving consent. Under this, PCB will have to give a written guarantee to send their team to India in the 2023 ODI World Cup. The final decision on all these issues will be taken at the BCCI SGM meeting which will take place on May 27. . According to Pakistani media, BCCI has now shown some softness in its position.

According to Pakistani media, BCCI was adamant about hosting the first Asian Cup somewhere else instead of Pakistan. In this regard, Pakistan had decided not to send their team to the ODI World Cup. After which he has now switched stands. The head of the PCB, Najam Sethi, had said in his statement that if the BCCI does not change his position, it will not send the Pakistani team to India for the World Cup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board got consent from the boards of Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka on the hybrid model. Now BCCI can also play their matches in the UAE or Sri Lanka under this model. A decision on the matter will be taken at BCCI’s special general meeting to be held in Ahmedabad on May 27. The Asian Cup will be organized in September 2023, in which it will be played in the format of more than 50.
