The country will present Miches as a tourist destination at Fitur

The Dominican Republic will once again be a co-sponsor of the Fitur international tourism fair, which will be held in Madrid from January 18 to 22 and where the country will make the special presentation of a new destination, the municipality of Miches belonging to the El Seibo province.

“This year there is great expectation with the attendance of the Dominican Republic at Fitur 2023, where we reached the maximum number of exhibitors in the history of our participation in this important international tourism fair,” said the Dominican Minister of Tourism, David Collado, in a release.

He affirmed that the fair will be the "perfect platform" to show the tourist world all the conditions and beauty that Miches offers as a destination in the Caribbean.

It is a fishing town with extensive virgin beaches surrounded by exuberant vegetation.

Regarding the presence in Fitur, the minister explained that 6 sponsors and 45 co-exhibitors will participate in the Dominican pavilion, including the main companies in the industry and the largest commercial banks in the country.

"As every year we will bring our diversified tourist offer to Fitur, establishing why we are the country with the best conditions for foreign investment"he added.

Collado announced that the Dominican delegation will present a great cultural exhibition, artisans and folkloric ballet, as well as talks to offer the beauties of the different destinations and the diversity of the Dominican tourist product.

According to the latest official data, from January to October the Dominican Republic received 5,826,078 visitors by air and 88,178 by sea.

In the first ten months of this year, the arrival of visitors contributed 7.278 million dollars to the Dominican economy.

According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Tourism, this year will end with the arrival of more than seven million tourists and income that will exceed 8,000 million dollars.
