The National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) today alerted investors that two companies, MetaQuotes.net and Nacional Trade LTD, attempted to impersonate them.

According to the regulator, “these companies contact investors to fraudulently organize, on behalf of CNMV, the recovery of possible losses, investigate possible irregularities and guarantee the return of funds.”

The CNMV warns in an “urgent warning” that the two companies are using “false” emails and regulator signatures to deceive investors.

Nacional Trade LTD has as potential clients investors from registered investment companies and claims to be mandated by the CNMV to investigate possible irregularities and guarantee the return of funds.

The regulator points out that it has not given any domestic or foreign company or individual the authority to manage the recovery of investors’ losses.

The supervisor added that he did not use the services of an institution to investigate irregularities at an investment services company.
