The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed the four-year suspension imposed in 2019 by the North American arbitration court on coach Alberto Salazar and endocrinologist Jeffrey Brown, without canceling it, as requested by those sanctioned, or increasing it, as requested by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
The American coach, of Cuban origin, and the doctor were punished after a four-year investigation in which, according to the USADA, more than 30 witnesses reported the doping plot in which they were involved while working in the Nike Oregon Project (NOP), a high-level training group.
Following extraordinarily long procedures due to the pandemic, the CAS considers that Salazar incurred in possession of testosterone, complicity with Brown in the use of prohibited methods and manipulation of anti-doping controls.

When the sanctions were made public, in 2019, Salazar was at the Doha World Athletics Championships, which he had to leave when the accreditation is withdrawn.
In the past he had been coach of the British Mo Farah, four times Olympic champion and six times world champion of 5,000 or 10,000 meters. The relationship between the two broke down in 2017.
