Prime Video recently announced a special week dedicated to all of its upcoming adult-oriented anime series. From January 17 to 23, Amazon will launch an event called Fanimation Week. The purpose of this event is to celebrate all adult animated series streaming on Prime Video. On January 18, Amazon will focus on the next animated series from The Boys, titled The Boys: Diabolical. Announced last month, Diabolical is an animated anthology series that will be set in the same universe as The Boys. The production was announced in a video featuring the actor Karl Urban, which interprets Billy Butcher in the live-action series. The announcement was made during Comic-Con Experience 2021 from Prime Video. It has been confirmed that Diabolical will have a total of eight episodes.
“There is no doubt that you are the best fans in the world,” the actor first said. “To thank you, we have a little surprise in store for you that will be released early next year… [Les producteurs Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen et Evan Goldberg] asked a few of their famous friends to cook up eight delightfully unique and twisted animated episodes set in the world of The Boys. »
There is currently no further info on whatAmazon will reveal about the series during the Fanimation Week, but this announcement is the first concerning the series since its reveal. When it was announced, the anime series was already described as “nearly finished”. It could be thatAmazon only reveals a poster or images, the best would be a first teaser.
Diabolical will feature a team of top-notch writers, with episodes featuring stories fromAwkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot and Ilana Glazer, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland, Ben Bayout, Andy Samberg, Aisha Tyler, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen.
