This is news that will delight all Star Wars fans. Indeed, Disney has just confirmed the arrival of The Book of Boba Fett, the series centered on the legendary bounty hunter, from December 29, 2021 on Disney +. The big-eared firm revealed the existence of this spin-off at the end of season 2 of The Mandalorian, as Boba Fett seizes the vacant throne of Jabba the Hunt on Tatooine, alongside mercenary Fennec Shand .

As Disney points out, the first episode will therefore be broadcast on December 29, 2021 on its streaming platform, and will then offer one episode per week. And yes, you won’t be able to devour the series in one evening unfortunately. We will obviously find in the title role Temuera Morrison, interpreter of the bounty hunter since Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones. As for Ming-Na Wen, she will again play the role of the cold mercenary Fennec Shand.

An avalanche of Star Wars series coming to Disney +

Other good news, Jon Favreau, director and creator of the series The Mandalorian is executive producer of the show, as are Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian), Robert Rodrivez (Sin City, Desperados, Une Nuit en Enfer), Kathleen Kennedy (the last trilogy Star Wars), Colin Wilson (Avatar), Karen Gilchrist (the live action adaptation of The Jungle Book) and Carrie Beck (Star Wars Rebels).

As a reminder, the shooting of season 3 of The Mandalorian began in September 2021. However, we will have to wait during 2022 to discover the rest of the adventures of “Mando”. On this subject, Carl Weathers, the actor who plays bounty hunter Greef Carga, has confirmed that he will be behind the camera again for a few episodes. Star Wars fans won’t be left out with a plethora of projects coming to Disney +, like Star Wars Visions (which has just been released on the platform), the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series with Ewan McGregor in the title role or Ahsoka, a show centered on the Jedi played by Rosario Dawson.
