The Argentinian Franco Girolami, with Audi, won this Sunday his third race of the season in the TCR Europe and caresses the title, after celebrating the sixth and penultimate date of the specialty calendar, with a stage at the traditional Italian Monza racetrack. The Cordovan from Isla Verde accumulated a difference of 89 points over Briton Josh Files who finished ninth, with 91 remaining at stake.

With this victory, Girolami added his third victory with the Comtoyou Racing Audi and secured the continental title of the TCR series, by achieving a sum of points that allowed him to leave the peninsular track with 354 units .

Girolami now has a difference of 89 (with 91 remaining) over his main rival, the British Files (Cupra), who arrived in ninth placefalling behind in the final meters when he was sixth.

The Isla Verde pilot sclimbed from fourth to second place at the start (he started with the positions reversed from first to tenth with respect to the classification), managing to get very close to the Russian Klim Gavrilov (Cupra), whom he equaled and surpassed in the first lap.

A from there he commanded the race that had a neutralization due to an oversight by Isidro Callejas (Cupra), and later, in the epilogue, the arrest with a red flag due to a strong impact on the Ascari chicane of Paolo Rocca (Honda). Third finished the Venezuelan Sergio López (Cupra).
