The 7 players Chelsea want to sell in the summer market

Chelsea are facing the need to generate £100m from player sales before June 30, a figure that has led the club to consider the possible exodus of up to seven players. Names that could leave Stamford Bridge include Lewis Hall, Armando Broja, Romelu Lukaku, Marc Cucurella, Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah and Ian Maatsen.

19-year-old full-back Lewis Hall, currently on loan at Newcastle United, could be the first to depart and according to the Telegraph the deal appears to be on track to be completed. On the other hand, defenders such as Ian Maatsen and Trevoh Chalobah as well as striker duo Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku are expected to leave the club.

Chelsea’s 7 clearances for the summer

Maatsen, who has impressed on loan at Borussia Dortmund, has a £35m release clause in his contract which could tempt a club to activate it. As for Lukaku, his future at Chelsea seems uncertain with the possibility of Roma or Saudi Arabia’s interest saving him.

On the other hand, Marc Cucurella and Conor Gallagher could also be on their way to leaving the club, although Chelsea will do everything they can to keep Gallagher through a lucrative contract extension. Tottenham, who are closely monitoring Gallagher’s situation, could make a move for him if an agreement is not reached with Chelsea.

Ultimately, Chelsea face a major shake-up of their squad in the upcoming summer transfer market, with the need to balance their books and make difficult decisions to comply with Premier League rules around profits and sustainability.
