The 3 clubs that want to sign Palhinha in the summer

The search for reinforcements continues in the world of football and this time the eyes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are on Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.

The Portugal international has excelled since arriving at the Cottagers in the summer of 2022, defying interest from other clubs such as Wolverhampton Wanderers. His performance in midfield has made him a hot target and even caught the attention of Bayern Munich last summer.

Despite the German giant’s interest, negotiations fell through and Palhinha remained at Craven Cottage, signing new terms shortly afterwards. However, with his contract running until 2028, Fulham executive vice-chairman Tony Khan has made it clear they will consider “reasonable offers” for the player at the end of the season.

According to reports from Football Insider, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are exploring the possibility of making a concrete offer for Palhinha. Although Liverpool had previously shown interest and ultimately opted for other options such as Moisés Caicedo, the club could be looking for a more physical presence in midfield.

Arsenal, for their part, may need to strengthen their midfield, especially given the potential departures of Jorginho and Mohamed Elneny at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Chelsea also see Palhinha as an opportunity to physically strengthen their midfield, complementing the likes of Caicedo and Enzo Fernández.

Bayern, for their part, are monitoring the situation closely and given their historic interest in the Portuguese player, they could rekindle their interest if the price is right. With the transfer window on the horizon, Joao Palhinha’s fate could be decided in the coming weeks as clubs consider their options to strengthen their respective squads.
