At least 5 people were killed in a terrible explosion at a missile factory in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
According to international media reports, the Turkish capital was rocked by a strong explosion on Saturday morning. The sound of the explosion in the factory located in Madagh district was heard to the distant parts of the city.
The Defense Ministry said in a statement that at least five workers were killed in an explosion at an explosives factory in Ankara.
The explosion occurred at the MKE rocket and explosives factory 40 kilometers (25 miles) outside Ankara.
Ankara Province Governor Wahap Sahin told reporters that according to technical staff, the explosion occurred as a result of a chemical experiment in the factory’s dynamite department.

“Unfortunately, five workers have died in the tragic incident. Our condolences go to their families while there were five other workers under the debris and we have been able to rescue them,” he said.
State media further said that the condition of many of the injured is critical.
