TeamViewer reinforces its presence in Portugal and promises advances in Augmented Reality

THE team viewer is the world leader in remote connectivity and digitization solutions for the workplace. Thus, after the launch last year of a research and development center, it strengthens its presence in Portugal. Now he moves to a new office in Porto, consolidating the north of Portugal.

The new center opened yesterday is part of the company’s global R&D organization. According to her, it will be dedicated to the development of augmented reality solutions. Currently with 30 qualified design and software engineers, TeamViewer expects to hire another 25 specialists by the end of the year.

By the way, a big part of the new AiStudio plugin that is part of the Augmented Reality software “TeamViewer Frontline”. It consists of a self-learning algorithm to train Artificial Intelligence models for image and object recognition. Note that this same algorithm was developed in Porto.

Luís Castro Henriques, President and CEO of AICEP, Investment and Foreign Trade Agency of Portugal, who participated in the opening of the new office, states that he is very proud to welcome TeamViewer to Portugal.

“This is a clear demonstration that Porto has become a preferred destination for technology-based operations that can benefit from a highly qualified and dynamic talent pool. The focus on augmented reality solutions that TeamViewer brings to the local ecosystem is a fundamental contribution to Portugal’s position as a leading technology hub in Europe.”

For his part, Filipe Araújo, Vice President of the Porto City Council, said during the ceremony that the arrival of TeamViewer in Porto fits perfectly with the city’s strategy. This in terms of promoting a robust and dynamic ecosystem of companies.
