Ott Tanak has snatched the lead of the Rally from Sweden to Craig Breen, but they will play the victory to the sprint in the short final stage, of 3 sections and 63 timed kilometers, separated by less than 9 seconds. Nor will there be a lack of suspense in the fight for the third step of the podium, since Thierry Neuville and Kalle Rovanpera they are separated by less than 4 seconds. The outcome will be short, but intense.
The penultimate day of the Swedish event has experienced intense fights. It seemed that Breen had the situation under control until in the final stages he got stuck in a snowbank first and then ran out of studs in his tyres. Something that also happened to Tanak, but that I knew how to save better, allowing you to lie down leading and dreaming of a Ford triumph…which has not been produced since the 2022 Monte Carlo Rally.
But the man of the day has been Neuville, who has won 4 of the 7 stages disputed and has climbed from sixth to third place. Rovanpera, who had also regained positions at the expense of Esapekka Lappi (who got stuck in the snow) and Elfyn Evans (who suffered a spin), he has not been able to stop him and third place will be played against the dog in the final three sections.
Among the Spanish Daniel Alonso is third in Masters and Raúl Hernández fifth in Junior. The rest continue in the race with mixed luck.
