Table tennis wins gold and silver in Bolivarian Games

The table tennis teams broke the predictions and took possession of the first medals that this discipline distributed on its second day in the Bolivarian Games.

Jiaji We, Samuel Gálvez and Isaac Vila won the gold by beating the Chilean team 3 sets by 2, represented by Alfonso Olave, Gustavo Gómez and Nicolás Burgos

In the first match, the Dominican team defeated Colombia in 3 sets by 0, and then won 3-1 against Ecuador and 3-1 against Venezuela, and in the semifinal beat Peru 3-1, made up of athletes Felipe Duffo, Rodrigo García, Carlos Fernández and Adrian Ribinos.

The women’s team, made up of Esmerlin Castro, Eva Brito and Yasiris Ortiz, won the silver medal after losing 3 sets to 1 in the final against the Chilean team, made up of Judith Morales, María Vega and Daniela Ortega.

The Quisqueyan representation dispatched the Venezuelan team 3-1.

In the preliminary round, the Dominican team lost 0-3 to Chile and then beat Ecuador 3-2. In the women’s team competitions, the two losses were against the Chileans.
