Sushmita Sen Backs Fawad Khan’s Bollywood Return, Says Talent Knows No Boundaries.

Fawad Khan is set to make a comeback to Bollywood with the film “Abir Gulal”, alongside Vaani Kapoor. The movie has sparked controversy, with some political parties opposing the inclusion of Pakistani actors in Indian films. Sushmita Sen, a former Miss Universe winner, weighed in on the issue.

Sushmita Sen’s Take on Pakistani Actors in Indian Films

Sushmita Sen believes talent knows no borders. She stated, “I know that talent and creativity have no boundaries, and they shouldn’t.” The actress emphasized that the creative field should be free from restrictions, allowing artists to express themselves without limitations.

When asked if she would consider working in a Pakistani film, Sushmita Sen replied, “I’ll always do a good film, no matter where it comes from.” Her stance highlights the importance of artistic freedom and the value of good storytelling, regardless of its origin.

The ‘Abir Gulal’ Controversy

In 2016, following the Uri attack, political parties banned Pakistani artists from working in India. However, in 2023, the Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking to uphold this ban. The announcement of “Abir Gulal”, starring Fawad Khan, followed in 2024. Some political parties, particularly in Maharashtra, have vowed to protest the film and prevent its release in the state.
