Superman López, second in the Vuelta Bantrab in Guatemala

This Wednesday began the second edition of the Vuelta Bantrab in Guatamala. The first stage of the Central American competition was run between Guatemala City and Salamá with a 140-kilometre route, which included six mountain passes, two of the second, two of the third and two of the fourth category. Team Medellín was the great protagonist of the first day.

The Spanish Óscar Sevilla from Team Medellín – EPM was the winner of the day and he became the leader with a record of 3 hours, 26 minutes and 48 seconds, same time as his teammate Miguel Ángel ‘Superman’ López, who finished as the leader of the mountain. The third place went to the also Colombian Róbigzon Leandro Oyola who arrived at 3:54.

“Oscar Miguel Sevilla Rivera and Miguel Ángel López Moreno (Team Medellín EPM), dominated the first chapter of the Guatemalan event. The duo reached the finish line with a 3:54 lead. The attack by Oscar Miguel Sevilla Rivera and Miguel Ángel López Moreno was presented before Cerro Gordoa second-category port, managing to dominate the end of the stage at will”, reported the Antioquia team.

The competition will continue this Thursday with the second stage of the Vuelta Bantrab, which will start in San Miguel Chicaj and end 124.5 kilometers later in San Pedro Carchá. During the tour there will be a first category mountain prize (8.6 kilometers at 6.3%) and three flying goals.
