Riyadh: The Saudi royal family has said that US President Joe Biden will visit Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the House of Representatives has said that the two-day visit of the US President will take place on July 15 and 16.
The House of Representatives has said that US President Joe Biden will pay an official visit to Saudi Arabia, accepting the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, to further develop and expand Saudi-US relations and strengthen strategic ties.
During the visit, he will meet Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Shah Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman to discuss the protection of the interests of the two countries and the challenges ahead.
The House of Representatives has said that the second day of the summit is included in the agenda of the US President’s visit in which King Salman has invited the heads of the Gulf countries as well as the Jordanian, Egyptian and Iraqi presidents.
The summit will be held on July 15 to discuss important issues and problems facing the region.
According to Arab News, a statement issued by the White House said that President Joe Biden will visit Jeddah after his visit to Israel.
“We appreciate the leadership of Shah Salman and his invitation, and look forward to an important visit to Saudi Arabia,” the statement said. Saudi Arabia has been a strategic partner of the United States for almost eight decades.
The White House added that President Joe Biden will discuss bilateral relations and regional issues during his visit to Saudi Arabia, including support for a UN-brokered ceasefire in Yemen, which began seven years ago. The war is peaceful.
The statement said that the US President will also discuss the possibility of expanding cooperation in the areas of regional economy and security, including new infrastructure and climate change measures.
“Part of the talks is to prevent threats from Iran, to ensure human rights, global energy and food security,” he said.
President Joe Biden will also visit the West Bank before leaving for Saudi Arabia, where he will meet with Palestinian officials and reiterate his strong support for a two-state solution.
