The medical report issued by Dr. Alberto Fernández Morán, from Deportivo Alaves, a team where the Dominican midfielder plays, reported that José De León, “after twisting his left ankle while training, suffered a rupture of the anterior talar fibular ligament and partial involvement of the anterior tibiofibular syndesmosis at its tibial intersection. This injury is considered a grade II left ankle sprain. The recovery period for him until his return to the game is estimated to be between three and four weeks”.
After the fact, the national coach of the Sedofútbol U20, Walter Benítez, summoned the Atlético Vega Real midfielder, Steven Martínez, to take the place of José De León in the call for the matches against the New Granada team.
