Stefan Ortega, the ‘Spanish’ goalkeeper that interests Bayern

As pointed out Sky Sports, Alexander Nübel’s future at Bayern is very dark. Manuel Neuer (35 years old) is close to renewing his contract with Bayern for three more seasons, a link that would unite him with those from Munich until 2026, at the age of 40. A continuity of the German goalkeeper that would definitely close Nübel’s stage in the Bavarian team. The goalkeeper’s contract ends in 2023 and he does not want to continue in Neuer’s shadow any longer. Now he is on loan at Monaco, but in the summer he will ask to be transferred. A march, which together with the uncertain future of Sven Ulreich (his contract also ends) in the Nagelsmann squad, places Bayern in search of a goalkeeper to accompany Neuer.

And the first on the list also plays in the Bundesliga. It is Stefan Ortega Moreno (6-11-1992, Calden, Germany). German goalkeeper of Spanish parents. Ortega grew up in the lower categories of Arminia Bielefeld. After a short period at 1860 Munich (2014-2017) he returned to Bielefeld. Contract ends with the Rhineland team at the end of the current season and the interest that Bayern has in it being the replacement of Neuer’s guarantees is well known.

Ortega has been scratching at a high level in the Bundesliga for several campaigns. So much so that he was the reserve goalkeeper chosen by Joachim Löw, and the Mannschaft goalkeeping coach, Andreas Köpke, to attend Euro 2021, in case Neuer, Leno and Trapp had any mishaps.
