Spider-Man No Way Home: Will some villains be able to switch to the good guys?

After breaking the internet with almost half a billion views for the trailer, far ahead Avengers: Endgame at the same stage, Spider-Man: No Way Home ignites fans who indulge in a lot of theories. From a reliable source, we can perceive in the trailer the return of iconic villains of the franchises of Marc Webb and Sam Raimi, half-heartedly confirming the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, the two previous interpreters of the spider-man.

For the moment, we denote more or less the presence of five villains in the trailer: Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), Electro (Jamie Foxx), the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), The Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) and the Lizard (Rhys Ifans). The mystery remains, however, when the sixth thief who could join these Sinisters Six even if many think of Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal). In truth, it is hard to imagine Peter Parker and Doctor Strange face this large number of villains, and for good reason: if we stick purely to the recovery of the narrative arcs of some of these characters, some might not behave as villains.

Spider-Man No Way Home: Alfred Molina (Doctor Octopus) breaks the silence and talks about his return!

Alfred Molina, the interpreter of Doc Ock, previously confirmed that her character will pick up her story at the very end of the events of Spider-man 2 in 2004. Out, at that moment, the professor regains control over his mechanical arms and sacrifices himself to drown the atomic nucleus he created to save new York. If he still has his memories of before his fake death in the city bays, he might not behave like an antagonist and help Spiderman in his quest.

Same problem with Sandman (Thomas Haden Church). At the very end of Spider-Man 3, Flint Marko repented of all the harm he may have done and officially apologizes to the Peter Parker version Tobey Maguire for having been responsible for the death of his Uncle ben. The character is not inherently bad and, if we stick to the images of the trailer, he even seems to come between Spidey and yellow lightning, which probably belong to Electro.

Spider-Man and Strange therefore could not be alone against the super villains since there could only be the Green Goblin, Electro and the Lizard as real villains of the movie, unless Marvel chooses to introduce the Vulture, Scorpion and Mysterio in the fray to add spice to the clashes. One thing is certain, this feature film will have many surprises in store and the waiting time until December 17 is still very long.
