The new model of the Japanese brand is an exact clone of its closest competitor

The Asian company has confirmed that this new reference will only be hybrid and that will arrive in the spring of the following year. What causes curiosity and suspicion is that in the first images of the car, it can be seen that it is an exact clone of the current one Toyota yaris. But the similarities are not only of character aesthetic, they are also in mechanics Y technology. To top it off, this new Mazda model will be produced in the same plant where its Toyota counterpart is manufactured.
The most relevant similarities of the Mazda2 and the Toyota Yaris
The similarities between the two cars of the Japanese brands are not a coincidence nor is it a copy. Both Mazda and Toyota have signed an alliance for the production of a new series of utility vehicles with technologies never seen before. This marriage began in 2015 and to date they have created several interesting models.
In this case, the Mazda 2 will be like the twin brother of the Toyota Yaris except for some very subtle differences. Its bodywork will be very similar and the only thing that will be different will be its logo. As for its heart, it will be the same as the Toyota Hybrid System that combines a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle three-cylinder gasoline engine, 93 hp and 120 Nm of torque, with an electric one of 80 hp and 141 Nm.
