South African T20 League: Former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis will once again join Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He has been included by CSK in their Johannesburg squad for the T20 league which will kick off Cricket South Africa from next year. CSA has reportedly been selected as a ‘featured player’ in the Johannesburg squad bought by IPL team Chennai Super Kings for the first season of the T20 league. In addition to Du Plessis, CSK have also signed English all-rounder Moeen Ali. Moin is also part of the Chennai team in IPL.

Du Plessis was part of the CSK for a long time

Du Plessis, who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last IPL season, was part of the CSK squad between 2011 and 2021 (CSK was suspended in 2016 and 2017) except for 2016 and 2017. However, before Last year’s mega auction CSK released Du Plessis and after that Royal Challengers Bangalore bought him for a huge amount and made him their captain.

The T20 league will start next year

Talk about the new CSA T20 league, then it will be organized in the month of January-February of next year in 2023. Wednesday was the last date for direct signing of players for the upcoming six-team league.

IPL franchises have bought six teams.

Significantly, all six teams in the league have been bought by the current owners of the IPL teams. In this, CSK has bought Cape Town for the Johannesburg-based franchise Mumbai Indians. While Durban, Port Elizabeth, Paarl and Pretoria have been bought by Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals.

On the other hand, the Mumbai Indians announced on Thursday the names of their five outstanding players in the league. The Mumbai Indians have joined Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran and Dewald Brevis for their team called MI Cape Town.
