Solana off the air again, this time due to a bug

Last night it became clear that Solana was no longer available. The network eventually went offline for about four hours due to a bug. Due to this bug, Solana stopped producing transactions. Solana developer and co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko explained what was going on:

“Durable Nonce Instruction” [een mechanisme binnen Solana] caused part of the network to consider the block invalid, no consensus could be reached. Network resets with this feature disabled. Fix will be out as soon as possible.”

After four hours, the validators from the network to restart Solana. Reportedly, however, many nodes would still come online. So it will take some time before the network is fully restored.

The umpteenth time Solana goes offline

Despite the fact that no crypto was lost, Solana has been criticized for the problems. A blockchain network should be online at all times, which should be one of its strengths compared to centralized solutions.
