India’s star cricketer Smriti Mandhana has been voted the best international cricketer for 2023-24 in the women’s category by the BCCI. She received a trophy and 15 lakh rupees for her outstanding performance. Mandhana has been in excellent form, delivering strong performances for Team India, and this award is a testament to her hard work. Notably, she has won this prestigious award for the fourth time.

Exceptional Performance in ODI Cricket

Smriti Mandhana had a remarkable year in ODI cricket, scoring 747 runs in 2024. She achieved four centuries and three half-centuries, setting a record for the highest number of centuries in women’s ODI format in a year. Mandhana also hit over a hundred boundaries, including 95 fours and six sixes. The 28-year-old cricketer maintained an average of 57.86 in ODIs and an impressive strike rate of 95.15. Her outstanding performance earned her the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year award for 2024.

Mandhana’s Dominance in ODI Runs

Smriti Mandhana was the highest ODI run-scorer in 2024, playing exceptional innings against top teams worldwide. She scored two consecutive centuries against South Africa in June, helping India win the series 3-0. Mandhana also scored a century in the decisive match against New Zealand in October and another against Australia in December, although India lost that match. When in rhythm, she is difficult to stop.

Versatility in All Three Formats

Smriti Mandhana has played cricket in all three formats for the Indian team, demonstrating her versatility. She has scored 629 runs in 7 Tests, 4209 runs in 97 ODIs, and 3761 runs in T20 International Cricket. Mandhana has achieved a total of 10 centuries across all three formats, solidifying her position as a top cricketer.
