Sivakumar agreed to become Siddaramaiah’s deputy for the sake of the party

Congress is going to make Siddaramaiah the Chief Minister of Karnataka after four days of negotiations. And the other contender for the post of chief minister, DK Shivakumar, is going to be the deputy chief minister.

The decision will be announced at a party meeting in Bengaluru on Thursday evening. They will take oath on Saturday. NDTV reported this information in a report quoting a leader who is a follower of Shivakumar.

The leader who is a follower of Shivakumar said that the work of forming the cabinet is almost over. Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge is working to solve this problem.

He said that Shivakumar had accepted the offer of Deputy Chief Minister’s post after Sonia Gandhi’s intervention. He agreed to it for the sake of the party.

Shivakumar’s brother Congress MP DK Suresh told NDTV, they are not happy. My brother wanted to be Chief Minister. We are not happy with this decision.

On Thursday morning, Siddaramaiah and Sivakumar met Congress general secretary KC Venugopal. It was the first meeting between the two chief ministerial contenders after the Congress’ landslide victory in Karnataka. After this meeting they left to meet Congress President Mallikarjun Kharg.
