Grupo SID channels a donation for more than RD$25 million for part of the communities most affected by Hurricane Fiona, located in the East of the country with the highest indicators of poverty in the region.

The solidarity action of the business conglomerate is aimed at the inhabitants of La Altagracia, Monte Plata, La Romana, El Seibo, Samaná, Hato Mayor, María Trinidad Sánchez and Duarte, where the meteorological phenomenon left in its wake great material damage to homes, public services and means of production.

Different types of food, drinking water, cleaning products, personal products (diapers, sanitary pads and toilet paper), and construction materialsare part of the help of Grupo SID, which this Tuesday structured the transport and delivery logistics from its headquarters in Santo Domingo.

Ligia Bonetti, Executive President of Grupo SIDdeclared that the main companies that make up the conglomerate, such as MercaSID, Induveca, Agua Crystal and Induspalma, have been involved in the aid.

“We offer a hug of solidarity to all our fellow citizens who, in the path of the hurricane, have seen their homes and belongings affected, increasing their degree of vulnerability,” said the businesswoman.

Grupo SID, which is currently in its 85th anniversary of operations, has under its umbrella more than 2,000 local products and foreign brands, with a high level of presence in the daily life of Dominicans. Its more than 5,300 collaborators live in different areas of the country and today they want to accompany the many affected people.

“We are part of the Dominican family, which for more than eight decades we have accompanied in their day to day and this situation moves us. On behalf of all our collaborators and executives, we humbly bring some relief to our brothers who were affected by the path of the hurricane, ”said Bonetti.

The executive president of Grupo SID appealed to the goodwill of all companies, organizations and individuals in a position to help extend a helping hand to those affected by Hurricane Fiona.
