Shubman Gill reacted to the preparations for the third ODI, told how he is preparing

Indian team starter Shubman Gill played brilliant innings in the first two matches of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, where he scored 64 and 43 runs respectively. When people talked about Rituraj Gaikwad or Ishaan Kishan, Shikhar Dhawan was the opening partner of the series. Gill turned out to be a surprise choice for the team.

I feel very confident with my hitting. We didn’t get to practice much after the test series in England as both of our practice sessions were here, but once I got into the ODIs I felt confident with the way I was playing.

Before match three, Gill said: “Two ODI innings was my confidence booster. West Indies are a good team and we contributed to the team in two matches. One while batting and the other while chasing runs. It has helped boost my confidence. I hope to do better in the third game.”

He further said, “I started the innings with Dhawan, which gave us hope to do better. Maybe in the third match I will also get a chance to play as a starter with the captain. I started well in the previous matches and kept going, but unfortunately I couldn’t make it 100, so I was mad at myself for how I came out.

Gill admitted that achieving more than 300 scores in both innings at the Queen’s Park Oval helped him achieve his best performance with the bat.

Gill also talked about how head coach Rahul Dravid and hitting coach Vikram Rathor are helping him improve during practice sessions. I’m still having conversations with both coaches about my hitting. Mr. Vikram gives my input on my technique and the areas I can work on. Rahul sir gives advice on handling situations and shares his experience with me as he has played cricket all over the world.
