Shubman Gill: Did KKR make a mistake in leaving Gill? Learn how Gujarat and Kolkata record went

Indian star batsman Shubman Gill is part of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023. Playing for Gujarat this season, Gill has scored two consecutive centuries in league matches. In the latest season i.e. IPL 2022, Shubman Gill became part of Gujarat. He was bought by the Gujarat team at the mega auction held in 2022 for a price of Rs 8 crore. Gill was previously a part of the IPL Kolkata Knight Riders franchise.

Gill made his IPL debut for KKR in 2018 and remained a part of KKR until 2021. Kolkata had released Gill before the IPL 2022 mega auction. KKR team bought him for Rs 1.8 crore. On the other hand, after the release of him in 2021, Gujarat Titans made Gill a part of their team by making an offer of Rs 8 crores for Gill.

For Kolkata Knight Riders, Shubman Gill has scored 1417 runs in 55 innings at an average of 31.49 and a strike rate of 123. During this, he has scored 10 half centuries. At the same time, Gill has so far batted in 30 innings for Gujarat, in which he has scored 1163 runs at an average of 143.40 and a strike rate of 44.73. During this, 8 half centuries and 2 centuries have come out of his bat.

Gill came into his own as a player while playing for KKR for four years and then was released by the franchise. Taking advantage of this, Gujarat made Gill a part of their team. Gill has proved very good for Gujarat so far.

Shubman Gill has played 88 matches in his IPL career so far. Batting in 85 innings of these matches, he scored 2580 runs at an average of 36.34 and a strike rate of 131.43. During this, 18 half centuries and 2 centuries have come from his bat.
