The suspect who opened fire indiscriminately in a shopping mall in the United States yesterday was killed on the spot, the young man who shot the suspect has been hailed as a hero.
The police of the US state of Indiana have called the young man a ‘hero’ and said that if he had not done so, a large number of lives could have been lost.
According to the British news agency Reuters, 22-year-old Elsajsha Deacon had a legal weapon and in his presence in the mall called Greenwood Park, as soon as the attacker pulled out a rifle and started shooting, he immediately pulled out a pistol and killed him.
Indiana police say that there is no clear information about what the suspect’s motives were behind the shooting at the mall.
After a series of shooting incidents in the US for some time, there was a strong debate to tighten the laws regarding the possession of weapons in order to prevent such incidents.

Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison said that although Deacon did not have any military training, he fought off the shooter very well and fired at a safe distance to protect himself.
They said that Deacon surrendered himself to the security authorities after the incident and also cooperated with the police.
