Service in Spain was a marketing campaign

In Spain, there has been huge controversy over a service offering walks for children. Some influencers promoted the initiative and videos of people walking with various minors wearing harnesses were shared on social networks.

This is Child Walkers, a service similar to when people walk groups of dogs, but this time with children. The goal is to get minors to spend more time outdoors when their parents can’t go out.

“We know how important outdoor activities are for children and how complicated it is sometimes… that’s why our walkers are responsible for giving you a hand with the children and getting them out on the road for you,” they reported in their social networks. .

The outrage was huge and hundreds of people began commenting that children were “not pets” and “should not be treated like animals.”

“When we need someone, family or a babysitting service comes first… but that seems to miss the point.” Who founded this stupid company? “I assure you he is neither father nor mother,” one woman commented online.

It was all a marketing campaign

After the issue caused a lot of controversy, the truth came out: it was all a marketing campaign to promote glasses for children.

The aim of the ad was to raise awareness about how excessive screen use affects children’s vision. Therefore, it is better for them to spend their time on outdoor activities rather than on cell phones or technological items.

“The ‘Baby Walker’ ministry is not real. What is true, however, is that in Spain many children only go out for an average of 35 minutes a day, half as much as our pets. A lack of outdoor activities can cause and increase myopia in children. We want to raise awareness about how activities as simple as outdoor activities can prevent more children from joining the Fuzzy Generation. Check their eyesight and help us stop myopia in children,” they said on social networks.

Although the peculiar service was thus clarified, the explanation was not enough and the criticism continued. There are those who think that this is not the right way to advertise.
