Mariano Oliver, the plaintiff’s lawyer, for his part, was equally convinced that Pedro Cortés will be sentenced. “It has become clear that there is sufficient evidence against the prosecution to obtain a conviction. There was already a summary statement where he recognized WhatsApp. The content of these messages is not that they are inappropriate, it is that they are obscene”, pointed out the lawyer, who added: “He has denied that he had caused these touching in the vehicle, but there is a series of evidence that corroborates the testimony of the minor”.

Oliver, in this sense, has highlighted the “courage” of his client. “The kid wants to turn the page on a stage that has been complicated, he was under 16 when the events occurred and he has had a gallantry that no one can dispute, having in front of a very influential person in the world of football, but he took a brave step because there is a red line that cannot be crossed”.

“I go, I eat you whole and I come back”

Cortés, in his statement, in addition to pointing out that the player’s anger was due to the fact that he told him that Valencia did not want him because he was problematic, he has denied that he touched the minor when he transferred him on November 22, 2020 in his vehicle to the Sports City of Paterna. Regarding the messages that the plaintiff describes as “obscene”, Cortés, in his defense, added that they are taken out of context and correspond to his way of speaking.a version that the defending party wanted to justify with the testimony of the former leader’s own son.

He indictment presented by the family revealed messages that Cortés would have sent to the soccer player. These are conversations via WhatsApp with expressions such as: “You’re mine to the balls”, “You’re mine to the tip of your tail”, “I’m going, I’ll eat you whole and I’ll come back”, “If you want, I’ll go there now and you know what is going to happen to you” or, among others, “I really like women, but I really like being with you too, is something wrong?”
