The Romana Golf Association announced this Thursday the second Golf Classic (Asoglar) 2022, where some 100 golfers are expected, dedicated to the memory of Mr. José Lahoz Rodríguez (Joselin).
The information was released at a press conference held at the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), where the leaders of Asoglar, Freddy Mazara, president, and Ramon Piña, treasurer, met, while the Dominican Olympic Committee, Antonio Acosta , president and Rafael Villalona vocal and past president of Fedogolf.
Mazara indicated that the tournament will be held on June 4 of this year at The Links golf course in Casa de Campo. The output will be from 8:30 in the morning by shotgun. The modality of the event is bestball twosome in pairs.
For their part, Acosta and Villalona praised the event and the work being done by the new Asoglar board, which is chaired by Mazara.
“You can count on the COD, they have open doors and we look forward to the success of the tournament,” said Acosta.
“This board has been developing good events like this, and that benefits Dominican golf, so I am very happy with Asoglar,” said Villalona.
For his part, Héctor Luis Lahoz, son of Joselin, stated that his family feels honored by the dedication to the memory of the tournament to José Lahoz Rodríguez.
José Lahoz Rodríguez (Joselin) started playing golf in 1962. Before that, he had played baseball and volleyball.
