SC East Bengal part ways with head coach José Manuel Díaz
SC East Bengal fired head coach José Manuel Díaz on Tuesday after failing to win the last eight games in the Indian Super League (ISL). Former India captain and assistant coach Renedy Singh has been named the team’s interim head coach.
The Calcutta-based club, however, said that Díaz and his assistant coach, ngel Puebla García, had mutually agreed to leave the club for “personal reasons.”
“We would like to express our gratitude to José and Ángel for their contribution to the team this season. I wish them all the best for the future,” said Col Shivaji Samaddar, CEO of SC East Bengal, in a statement.
