Saudi Arabia’s Investment Minister Highlights Spain’s Strong Economic Growth
Saudi Arabia’s Investment Minister, Khalid Al-Falih, has praised Spain’s impressive GDP growth over the last two years, describing the country as a leader in Europe. The minister made these comments during a business meeting between Spain and Saudi Arabia, held at the headquarters of the Saudi Arabian Economic Commission for Europe (SAEC).
Spanish Companies and Saudi Arabia’s Economic Transformation
The Saudi Investment Minister highlighted the role of Saudi Arabia as a platform for Spanish companies to access the Middle East, with over 200 Spanish companies currently operating in the country. He also emphasized the country’s willingness to welcome and facilitate joint trade and investment contracts with Spanish companies.
Spanish Chamber of Commerce and CEOE Support the Partnership
The president of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Bonet, emphasized the fundamental role that Spanish companies have played and can continue to play in the diversification of Saudi Arabia’s production system and its competitiveness. The CEOE Vice President, Julián Núñez, also highlighted the attractiveness of the Saudi market, citing its abundant resources, ambitious infrastructure program, and policy of economic and business diversification.
Vision 2030 and Public-Private Collaboration
Alicia Varela, Director General of International Trade and Investments, agreed that Saudi Arabia is a key trading partner for Spain in the Middle East, and that the Vision 2030 strategy offers significant opportunities for Spanish companies. The meeting, which was attended by 200 Spanish and Saudi companies, also included roundtable discussions on the business climate in Saudi Arabia and the keys to establishing companies in the country.

The meeting concluded with information sessions for specific sectors, including Architecture/Construction/Engineering, Waste and Water Management, Renewable Energy, and Agriculture and Food Processing. The event aimed to strengthen trade ties and the flow of investment between Spain and Saudi Arabia, and to facilitate public-private collaboration and new business opportunities.
