Riyadh: Remittances from Saudi Arabia have increased by 10%.
According to Arab media reports, during the first half of 2021, migrants sent 76.7 billion riyals in the country, 10% more than in the first half of 2020.
The Central Bank of Saudi Arabia (SAMA) says that remittances fell 3% in June this year compared to June 2020.
Foreigners sent 960 million riyals during June 2020, 8% less than in May 2021.
Meanwhile, Saudi citizens remitted 31.4 billion riyals in the first half of 2021, 34 percent more than in the first half of 2020.
Compared to June this year, locals remitted 6.42 billion riyals in June last year, an increase of 56%. This amount is even higher than in May 2021. In May, the Saudis remitted 4.11 billion riyals.
