Saudi Arabia: Important Decision on Fugitive Foreign Employees

Riyadh: The Saudi Ministry of Manpower and Social Welfare has taken disciplinary action against the General Services Agency for providing shelter and jobs to fugitive domestic workers.

According to the state news agency SPA, a service agency in the capital Riyadh had arranged accommodation for fugitive employees from different countries and was also providing them jobs on its own and this work was being done without a license.

The Ministry of Manpower says the agency had also hired two foreign workers to do what they were not authorized to do.

The fugitive employees have been taken into custody and sent to a security center. The foreign workers have been handed over to the concerned government agency.

The Ministry of Manpower and Social Welfare has said that in case of any complaint from the recruiting agencies or companies or any objection to their performance, the complaint should be referred to the office.

No dealings should be made with any agency or company providing labor services other than the “Masand” platform under the Ministry.
