Saudi Arabia: Important Clarification on Importing Old Cars

Riyadh: The Saudi Customs, Zakat and Tax Authority has given an important explanation that right hand drive vehicles cannot be imported into the country.

According to Arab media, Saudi customs officials have also banned taxis or vehicles belonging to police squads, such as vehicles that have been submerged or have been repaired after being completely destroyed in an accident. Is also not allowed to import into Saudi Arabia.

The Customs, Zakat and Tax Authority says that under the law, vehicles that have been used for transportation in schools and have such signs on them cannot be imported.

Similarly, stolen vehicles or vehicles with bad chassis or vehicles whose chassis numbers have been illegally changed are also prohibited for import.

Immigrants living in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to import buses and vehicles for public transport.

Meanwhile, vehicles older than 5 years cannot be brought into the country. However, small buses weighing less than 3.5 tons or large buses and trucks weighing more than 3.5 tons will not be included in this category.

There is a ten year (old) discount on heavy transport for small buses and transport.
