Riyadh: Saudi officials have clarified how repatriation will be possible on expired residency, and what penalties may be imposed on renewal of residency.

According to the Saudi website, it is mandatory for foreign workers living in Saudi Arabia to keep their residency up to date. According to the law, if the residency expires, a fine of 500 riyals is imposed.

Officials say that if there is a delay in the renewal of residency for the second year, then a fine of 1000 riyals is imposed, while for the third time, the residency holder is deported according to the law.
