JEDDAH: The Saudi Foreign Minister has announced that it will provide free tourist visas to those who purchase airline tickets, the spokesman said, adding that the said service has been launched.

In this regard, a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the digital transit visa service will help in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Saudi Foreign Minister says that the purpose of issuing the ‘Traffic Visit Visa’ service is to simplify and automate the process of obtaining visas for all visitors to Saudi Arabia for all purposes.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that those coming to the Kingdom on transit visas will also be allowed to perform Umrah, visit the Prophet’s Mosque, visit tourist sites and go to other areas for recreational activities.
According to the ministry, the service is starting from Monday. Application for Visit Transit Visa can be made through the electronic platforms of “Saudi Airlines” and “Flynas”. The application will be automatically transferred to the unified national platform for visas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The application will be processed immediately and the digital visa issuance process will be initiated. The visa will then be emailed to the applicant.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the digital transit visa service will strengthen the position of Saudi Arabia and it will gain a prominent strategic position as a hub connecting the continents. The statement said that this service will also help to achieve the goals of the Saudi “Vision 2030”.

The transit visa for the visit will be free and will be issued immediately along with the travel ticket, the ministry said. It will be valid for up to three months and stay in the Kingdom will be for a period of up to 4 days.
