Riyadh: The anti-begging campaign has been intensified in Saudi Arabia on the directive of the Ministry of Interior.

According to the Saudi website, the Saudi public order officials are continuing their campaign to catch beggars in different parts of the country. The anti-begging campaign has been intensified on the instructions of the Interior Ministry.

The public order department has asked locals and foreigners residing in Makkah and Riyadh regions to contact them and inform them if they see beggars anywhere.

The Public Order Department said that there are official donor platforms in the country, and the government donations platform should be approached to ensure the delivery of donations to the needy.

Remember that taking up the profession of begging, inciting to begging or helping a beggar is punishable by imprisonment for 6 months or a fine of up to 50,000 riyals. One of the two punishments can be given.

Begging or begging from beggars is punishable by up to one year in prison or a fine of up to 100,000 riyals.

If a foreigner is found to be involved in begging, he will be deported and blacklisted after completing his sentence.
